Long-form creators expanding to ShortsNew channels building subscriber baseRepurposers converting existing content

Workflow steps

  1. 1Find clip-worthy moments from existing long-form content using Opus Clip or Klap.
  2. 2For original Shorts: script a 30-60 second hook-payload loop (the video should loop well).
  3. 3Use CapCut or Submagic to add captions and animated text that fills the 9:16 frame.
  4. 4Add a music track from YouTube's audio library (licensed for Shorts).
  5. 5Upload with #Shorts in the title or description to trigger the Shorts shelf.
  6. 6Post 1-2 Shorts daily for the first 60 days to build momentum.

Publish-ready checklist

  • Video is 60 seconds or under
  • Aspect ratio is 9:16 vertical
  • Captions cover key points for muted viewers
  • #Shorts tag added to title or description

Suggested output

Commit to a single format and publish 3 clips before iterating.
